This design ring has been inspired by the old Chinese forging and cutting technique Guri Bori and the old Mayan step pyramids.
The technique Guri Bori originated in the Tibetan village of Guri and was used from the Song dynasty (960 AD) to the Ming dynasty (1368 AD).
Guri Bori is characterized by soldering all kinds of layers of different colours of metal on top of each other and then cutting away parts of the layers in elegant figures. This creates a beautiful pattern in the metal, quite similar to the technique Mokumé Gane.
Mayan step pyramids
The ancient Mayan temples are known for their special step pyramids that are aligned with the stars. What is perhaps less well known is that the Mayans had a lot of contact with extraterrestrial life. There are many artifacts found of them that are clearly visible to see that they had a strong connection with our extraterrestrial friends.
We have included the stacking of layers of their step pyramids in the design of this silver ring, which creates a special landscape on the ring.
We have combined these two elements into one beautiful design ring.
How we make it
We make the Guri Maya Ring from 3D printed Sterling silver.
